Shoppers will be able to pop a shiny new iPhone into their Tesco shopping trolleys as of Monday.

The all-powerful retailer only announced plans to start selling the iPhone – piggybacking on O2’s network – at the tail end of last month, but it’s been busy clearing shelves ever since, it seems, and it now good to go.

Like network rivals O2 and Orange, it will offer both the iPhone 3G 8GB and the iPhone 3GS in 16GB or 32GB. Its pay-as-you-go deals are within pennies of both rivals, with the base 8GB 3G coming in at £342.

But Tesco is taking the fight to its rivals on the top-up front, with £15 and £30 top-ups delivering three times that in actual credit on the phone.

Just two monthly contract deals are offered. For £20 per month over 12 months you get £60-worth of credit plus unlimited internet, but the iPhone itself will cost a minimum of £222 up front.

For a free phone you’ll need to sign up for 24 months, and at £60 a month, and even then the 32GB iPhone 3GS will require you to pay in £50. You will, however, get unlimited calls and texts, along with the unlimited internet offered with the cheaper deal.

The Tesco iPhone will be available online at Tesco Direct, or at Tesco Mobile in-store shops.

Or Get A FREE Iphone 3Gs By Simply Following The Instructions Here
